Acne (pimples) can happen to anyone, but it is most common during teen years, as a result of poor washing habits, or during times of high stress. Below you will find some simple actions you can take to prevent acne.
Wash Your Hands
Hand washing is an easy way to help prevent acne. Most people touch their faces several times a day without knowing it and that can spread dirt, germs and sweat particles from your hands to your face and other parts of your body that get pimples. Wash your hands frequently throughout the day with a good anti-bacterial soap to help keep them clean. That way, when you do touch your face, it will be with clean hands. If you do have to touch your face, use the back of your hand instead of your palm!
Clean Your Face
It’s important to keep your face clean from impurities, dirt, germs and sweat to help prevent acne from appearing. Be sure to wash your face daily with a high quality anti-acne soap in the morning and at night to help get the healthiest skin possible.
Eat Healthy Foods
Eating a healthy, balanced diet can help prep your skin for success. When we eat lots of fatty, fried foods, our bodies often don’t know how to process or handle it and that can lead to more acne. Try to keep the unhealthy food to a minimum and focus on giving your body the good, nutritious food it needs.
Try an Acne Treatment
Many people who suffer from severe or constant pimple problems will seek support from their doctor. After assessing your skin, these medical professionals can prescribe special medication to remove and prevent acne, like antibiotics or retinoids. These medications can be harsh and require special application and routine monitoring by you and your doctor.
